Reasons you may be denied ECHO’s Rental Assistance:
2-3 months behind on rent or mortgage payments. - We encourage people to work with their rental managers to develop a payment plan to begin the non-eviction and repayment process.
No Income listed – We must see a source of income or a job offer letter.
Subsidized Housing (HUD, NHA, or income-based) - we are unable to assist anyone who is already receiving income-based housing.

If your work hours or income go down, reporting the change quickly allows the housing authority to recalculate your rent downward.
Contact your housing provider and make sure your documents are in order.
